Why Planetary Mixing Is Required

Uneven mixing and dispersion of slurry directly impair end‑product performance.

Battery Slurry Industry

Uneven mixing of active materials, conductive agents and binders in lithium‑ion battery cathode and anode slurry causes coating areal‑weight fluctuation, increased battery internal resistance and inconsistent cycle life. The planetary mixer generates intense kneading interference for high‑viscosity slurry via compound revolution‑rotation motion, and the high‑speed dispersing disc shears and breaks agglomerated particles, ensuring uniform dispersion of lab sample slurry and reliable formula evaluation data.

Electronic Paste Industry

Poor dispersion between metal powder and organic carrier in electronic pastes such as conductive silver paste and resistance paste leads to sheet resistance deviation, printing open‑circuit defects and non‑dense sintered films. The high‑speed dispersing disc of planetary mixer reaches linear speed up to 15m/s, evenly dispersing micron‑sized metal powder into organic carrier to guarantee sheet resistance consistency and printing performance of electronic paste samples.

Research Institutes

High‑viscosity systems are hard to mix in new‑material R&D. Conventional mixers suffer from material climbing & wall adhesion and numerous dead zones, resulting in large batch‑to‑batch deviation. The planetary mixer adopts enhanced helical frame together with wall‑scraping paddles to produce omnidirectional circulating motion inside the vessel without dead zones or material climbing, meeting research requirements for slurry mixing accuracy and batch consistency.

✨ Traditional Mixing Dilemmas: Conventional single‑shaft mixers feature numerous dead zones. Materials climb and adhere to vessel walls, causing uneven mixing of high‑viscosity slurries. Single mixing mode fails to complete mixing and dispersion simultaneously, leaving agglomerated particles unbroken. Open‑style mixing introduces bubbles and impurities which contaminate slurries and degrade performance. Imprecise temperature control leads to heat rise during mixing and altered rheological properties. Without vacuum function, internal bubbles inside slurry cannot be eliminated.

Why Choose SIE‑GX500

Solve Core Pain Points of Laboratory Sample Slurry Preparation

Dead‑zone‑free Dual‑Planetary Revolution‑Rotation Mixing

Low‑speed mixing paddles revolve clockwise and rotate counter‑clockwise. Wall‑scraping design eliminates dead zones on vessel wall and bottom. The enhanced helical frame handles medium‑high viscosity slurries. Low‑clearance design generates intense kneading interference and omnidirectional circulating motion for materials without material climbing. Cantilever‑type screw lifting vessel enables quick material change and cleaning, suitable for frequent formula switching in laboratories.

Fine Grinding via High‑Speed Dispersion

High‑speed dispersing shaft equipped with serrated dispersing disc, 0~5000r/min variable‑frequency speed regulation with max linear speed up to 15m/s. The disc strongly shears and breaks agglomerated particles for fine material dispersion. Co‑working of low‑speed mixing and high‑speed dispersion completes mixing and dispersion in one step, directly achieving qualified fineness for lab sample slurries.

Integrated Vacuum Defoaming & Precise Temperature Control

Equipped with oil‑free vacuum pump to remove internal slurry bubbles during mixing. Direct‑contact temperature sensor delivers fast response with ±0.5℃ measuring error. Heating and cooling are available to precisely control slurry temperature and prevent rheology change caused by mixing heat. Overall vacuum‑sealed design isolates air and moisture contamination during mixing.

✨ If your laboratory requires a small‑capacity planetary mixer with high dispersion for simultaneous mixing and defoaming, the GX500 is your ideal choice.

Working Principle

Both low‑speed mixing paddle and high‑speed dispersing disc perform rotation and revolution to realize mixing and dispersion simultaneously.

Step 1: Revolution & Rotation of Low‑Speed Mixing Paddles
Low‑speed paddles revolve clockwise and rotate counter‑clockwise. Wall‑scraping paddles eliminate vessel‑wall dead zones. Low‑clearance design generates intense kneading interference and omnidirectional circulating motion for materials. No climbing occurs for high‑viscosity slurries, and multi‑component materials start uniform mixing.

Step 2: Shearing & Disintegration by High‑Speed Dispersing Disc
The serrated disc on high‑speed shaft rotates at max 15m/s linear speed to strongly shear and break agglomerated particles. Low‑speed mixing and high‑speed dispersion run simultaneously. Materials achieve thorough dispersion and uniform blending under alternating kneading and shearing.

Step 3: Vacuum Defoaming and Temperature Control
Adjustable vacuum down to ‑0.098 MPa continuously removes internal slurry bubbles during mixing. Direct‑contact temperature sensor monitors slurry temperature in real‑time with ±0.5℃ precision, supporting heating and cooling. Upon completion, the screw‑driven lifting vessel descends for easy discharging and cleaning.

Three simple steps: Low‑speed revolution‑rotation mixing → High‑speed shear dispersion → Vacuum defoaming, temperature control & discharge. Mixing, dispersion and defoaming are accomplished in one cycle.
