SIENOX SIE-SG80 precision three-roll mill. 80mm×200mm rollers support heating and cooling, grinding fineness reaches 3-18μm after 3 passes. Equipped with standard circulating cooling water system. Precisely ground rollers with high parallelism and uniform gap across full length. Matte roller surface ensures good slurry adhesion. Roll ends are cold-pressed with heavy interference fit for solid connection. Repeated grinding achieves fine particle size to meet R&D fineness requirements.

Precise Speed Control by DC Governor

DC motor with adjustable speed, freely set according to material viscosity & target fineness. High speed for low-viscosity materials to boost efficiency; low speed for high-viscosity materials for uniform dispersion. Triangular belt and gear train drive rollers reliably for controllable grinding.

Compact Benchtop Design

Ideal for lab benchtop use. Small footprint, easy to move, fits limited lab space, no foundation required, ready after power-on. Removable feeding copper blade for easy cleaning and quick material changeover.

Working Principle

Based on planetary motion principle

What other devices adopt planetary motion principle besides SG80?

Planetary ball mill operates on planetary motion principle. Grinding jars are mounted on the main sun disk. While the disk revolves around the central axis, grinding jars rotate rapidly on their own axes in the opposite direction.

 

Under this compound motion, grinding balls inside jars are subjected to alternating forces:

Impact Force: Grinding balls are flung at high speed to crush coarse particles.

Friction and Shear Force: High-frequency friction and shear between balls and jar walls realize fine grinding and dispersion.


When centrifugal acceleration from revolution exceeds the critical value, balls are pressed against jar walls and rotate together with jars without effective grinding. Proper speed setting and transmission ratio are key to grinding efficiency. SIENOX models adopt optimized transmission ratios to achieve high centrifugal acceleration within valid speed ranges for efficient grinding.


Typical Grinding Parameters:

Sample Loading: ≤ 2/3 of jar volume (including grinding media and samples)

Media Filling Ratio: 1/3 to 1/2 of jar volume

Typical Grinding Time: 5–60 min (depends on material hardness and target fineness)

Final Fineness: down to <0.1μm (varies with material, parameters and media selection)
